As I wait for the new year I look at the garden, it's almost midday and the frost still lingers where the sun doesn't reach.

Looking for places where there isn't any ice helps identify planting spots for the less hardy.

Identifying and creating micro-climates helps us grow a wider range of plants.

A month by month photographic journey though year, the plants, the wildlife, the tasks, the sights and I can only describe the smells and the flavours. Starting 1/1/2014

January

is proving to be a very variable month with high rainfall punishing winds, then plummeting temperatures. The snowdrops & daffodils are showing through with the promise of spring. The fox & the badgers are coming for their treats.
