Hardiness Not reliable, I overwinter rooted cuttings in the greenhouse.
Soil Well drained, sandy soil.
Position Sun, sheltered.
Propagation Cuttings
Range Central America.

"Madmurds Caribbean Rice"



I finely chopped onion

1/4 Mango, banana or apple

1/2 point of Basmati Rice

2 cloves of garlic.

10 cloves.


1/2 teaspoon Tumeric.

10 washed Pineapple sage leafs (Chopped finely)

Fry onion with salt 1/2 teaspoon, tumeric & the cloves in olive oil until golden brown, adding the chopped garlic & fruit for the last two minutes. Add the rice & 1 pint of boiling water. Bring back to the boil. Cover & simmer gently for 12 minutes. I watch it for the last few minutes to make sure it doesn't burn.

Serve with many exiting dishes
