Temperate boreal lowland & montane forest. shrubland, heath, high altitude shrubland, grassland, rocky areas. Between 300 - 3,000 m,  Range:- Breeds South Western Asia &  Europe including the United Kingdom  Most Ring Ouzels are migratory with many wintering in the Middle East & North Africa. A resident population can be found in the French Alpine region.
