Breeds temperate  montane moist forest. Between 1,800 - 2,700 m. Non-breeding moist forest  plantations, rural gardens. Above 700 m.  Range:- Breeds Northern India:- Arid northwest, Western Himalayas, Non-breeding Southern India, Southeast & Sri Lanka. Passage Bhutan, Nepal  Pakistan.
